A bank robber who reportedly had a grudge against Security Pacific Bank was sentenced Tuesday to almost four years in federal prison for three holdups at Security Pacific branches in Escondido and San Marcos.

Paul Kenneth Lindsley, 36, of Escondido, was given a 46-month term by U.S. District Judge Howard Turrentine, which was recommended by the prosecutor.

After Lindsley’s arrest on July 5, a neighbor was quoted in newspaper stories as saying Lindsley disliked Security Pacific because he used to work for it. An FBI agent said Lindsley was previously employed by a firm that serviced the automated teller machines, but didn’t actually work for the bank.

Lindsley pleaded guilty to committing the June 11 holdup in San Marcos, in which $1,305 was taken. He also pleaded guilty to the June 20 robbery at the 1350 E. Valley Parkway branch in Escondido, in which $290 was stolen, and to the July 5 robbery, in which $997 was taken from the branch at 401 E. Valley Parkway, Escondido.
