Upjohn Plans Changes on Sleep Drug: The Detroit company announced that the sleep medication Halcion will come in a smaller package with stronger warnings next year. The changes are part of a company effort to mollify critics who contend that the drug’s side effects are dangerous. The moves follow an Oct. 2 ban on Halcion and all triazolam-based drugs in Britain, where the government said it was worried about such side effects as memory loss and depression.
