Restructuring LAUSD

Mark Slavkin should be commended for his candor; it took political courage to say his job should not exist. But more important is his recommendation that our school programs should be more sensitive to the specific communities they serve and to raise the expectations of what our educational system can and should provide. He deserves our support.
