6 Gulf States Discuss Joint Security Force

Defense ministers from six Persian Gulf states began a two-day meeting in Qatar on Wednesday to review plans for a joint Gulf security force, the Qatar News Agency reported.

The oil-rich Gulf Cooperation Council countries--Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates--have been discussing ways of improving regional security since the Gulf War ended in February.
