Debate Over National Health Care

Share

Americans are “entitled” to universal health care (editorial, Nov. 13)? Are you crazy? Nobody is “entitled” to live off his neighbor. Why do you perpetuate such socialist propaganda? If the government can force my neighbor to pay for my psoriasis, it can force me to pay for his cancer. And I don’t want to do it.

Why hasn’t anyone mentioned that there was never a health-care crisis until the government got involved with its Medicare legislation in the 1960s. That law took the pricing decision of health care away from the consumer, and gave it to third-party bureaucrats.

The health-care industry keeps increasing its rates, government and insurance industry bureaucrats keep paying them and passing the costs to the consumer. We are being mugged by one government and two industries. And you want more of it! The mind boggles!
