Between Lines in AIDS Story

Share

Your Nov. 18 article regarding AIDS in Ventura County (“AIDS Cases Growing Among Heterosexuals”) should certainly be read by all. But the information you present is not as important as the thoughts between the lines.

Your article portrays a young woman stricken with the AIDS virus from an insensitive and criminal carrier. She states that she will eventually send her mother a letter before she dies of AIDS.

Please urge this woman to seek help in coping with the problem. She has to give her family more credit for their love and comfort. Otherwise, she will be declining the most precious gift a mother has and that is continual love and comfort.

Secondly, her callous lover is on the loose. His casual response to her predicament is appalling, since it appears to be he who is spreading the virus. Perhaps he has had this conversation more than once with other women or men.
