The penalty kick was set up when UCSD’s Chris Hanssen took the ball into the box on the right wing and was fouled.

The Tritons (17-4-1), who lost in the finals to North Carolina Greensboro in 1986 and defeated Rochester Institute of Technology in 1988, will face Trenton State for the championship today at 1 p.m.
