Mervin G. Morris, founder of Mervyn’s stores, has joined the board of directors of Vans Inc., an Orange manufacturer of shoes. He succeeds Paul Van Doren, founder of Vans, who has resigned from the board. Vans was sold to the venture banking firm of McCown De Leeuw & Co. in 1988.
