Real-Estate Exchanges

Share

I’m writing to contribute some additional insight into two articles relating to real-estate exchanges (“Why Should Investors Seek Counsel for Real Estate Exchanges?” Sept. 15, and letter, Nov. 10). In addition to proper title insurance, the exchanger should demand a letter of credit from the accommodator’s bank. Thus if there is ever a problem with the accommodator disappearing on an extended vacation, the exchanger can seek resolution with his bank. The cost is minimal, and you will sleep better at night, I do.
