Ski Discounts Through Car Rental Program

Alamo Rent A Car is offering ski discounts to renters at its stations in Albuquerque, N.M., Denver, Reno and Salt Lake City.

Renters receive a complimentary Alamo/Ski Card International membership card and SkiSavers Guide. The card entitles holders to discounts of up to 50% off daily lift tickets, ski lessons/clinics, equipment tuneups and dining at resort-area restaurants. Among the ski areas where discounts apply are Aspen, Vail, Breckenridge, Telluride, Keystone and Copper Mountain in Colorado; Snowbird and Park City in Utah; Lake Tahoe in Nevada, and Taos in New Mexico. Discounts are typically higher at the beginning and end of the ski season.

Membership cards are now available, and will be offered through April 15.

Only one membership card is offered per car renter, and most of the discounts only apply to the card holder. Some of the restaurant discounts, however, can be used by two or more people. Under the program, renters also get a coupon for an upgrade on another rental--which can used at any station in the country, not just the four gateway ski cities. The car rental upgrade offer is valid through June 30.

Here are some sample discounts available with the ski card:

At Breckenridge, you get a 50% discount on daily lift tickets, which cost $36, from March 30 through April 19. You can save $15 off the $36 price, Monday through Dec. 20; $11 off from Jan. 6 through Feb. 14, and $8 off from Feb. 29 through March 29.

You can save $11 off the $36 price for ski lessons from Jan. 6 through Feb. 14, and $8 from Monday through Dec. 20 and March 30 through April 19. At the North Shore of Lake Tahoe, there is a two-for-one dining offer at the lakeside Le Petit Pier restaurant. The discount isn’t valid on Saturdays or holidays.
