Warhol Death: Shortly before his death, Andy Warhol had a premonition: He was going to check into a hospital and die. Warhol proved prescient: On Feb. 22, 1987, the prince of Pop Art died in New York Hospital. But attorneys for the late artist’s estate allege that Warhol wasn’t psychic but that the hospital and its staff were negligent. On Tuesday, a jury will begin hearing evidence in the case in a state Supreme Court in Manhattan. The malpractice and wrongful death lawsuit names as defendants the hospital plus two doctors, staff nurses and interns, and a private duty nurse assigned to Warhol’s room.
