Case Dismissed: Rodney Dangerfield and Caesars Palace have settled his claim involving an eye injury he said he sustained in a backstage steam room accident at the resort in 1988. Both sides said there were no remaining issues and agreed not to reveal the amount of the settlement. Dangerfield was awarded $500,000 by a federal court jury last year for pain and suffering and another $225,000 for shows he was forced to miss. A federal judge reduced the pain and suffering award to $50,000, and gave Dangerfield the option of accepting the reduced award or go back for a second trial. The agreement means there will not be a second trial.
