Welfare Benefits in California
My mother has recently become disabled with a lung disease. Her combined income from SS/D, SSI and spousal support is very minimal and doesn’t allow her enough for the barest necessities. My husband and I have had to pay for some of her expenses.
Most recently Medi-Cal has refused to pay for the only type of antibiotic she can take. This resulted in a six-day hospitalization.
We have four small children, two with asthma also. Our own expenses are very high and we simply can’t pay out any more than we have already.
Apparently this Administration, namely Gov. Wilson, intends to do away with the less fortunate. I am sorry I voted for him. At least Dianne Feinstein was truthful about her intentions.
