Barbara B. Ralph; Teacher

Barbara B. Ralph, who taught at Dyer Street School in Sylmar for 22 years, has died in a Los Angeles hospital. She was 53.

Mrs. Ralph died Monday of complications of dental surgery, said her estate’s executor, John Graves.

Born in Denver, she earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and taught elementary school in Denver before moving California in 1969. She taught third and fourth grades at Dyer Street School until October.

She is survived by a son, Greg Ralph of Simi Valley; daughters Holly Ralph of Simi Valley and Wendy Ralph of Chatsworth, and ex-husband Paul L. Ralph of Glendale; parents Lloyd and Amy Boyd of Rancho Bernardo, Calif.; a sister, Beverly Kelly of Albuquerque, N. M., and a granddaughter.

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Church of the Recessional at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, 1712 S. Glendale Ave., Glendale. Forest Lawn Mortuary in Glendale is handling the arrangements.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Barbara B. Ralph Memorial Fund, P. O. Box 2300, Arcadia 91077. Donations will be given as a gift to Dyer Street School.
