50th Anniversary of Pearl Harbor
A country’s incessant preoccupation with its past, be it glorious or tragic, is a sure sign of its inability to effectively manage its present state or chart its future course. Surely George Bush and his Administration will mark Dec. 7th with great displays of public sorrow and regret over the Japanese attack of 50 years ago. This should be done.
Yet he fails to address the trade inequities that exist between the two countries and does nothing to fortify our financial, educational or social position while the Japanese wage war freely on the economic battlefield of today. Why?
