Pebble Beach Misses Deadline: Pebble Beach Co.’s proposal to sell six-figure memberships hit the rough again after the company missed a deadline to file a lawsuit that might have blocked the state from having a say in its plans. The debt-ridden company filed suit against the California Coastal Commission and some of its members, challenging the agency’s jurisdiction over its plan to raise cash by selling memberships. But the Monterey County Superior Court lawsuit was filed a day late. According to state law, Pebble Beach had 60 days to file the suit after the Coastal Commission’s Oct. 10 ruling that it had jurisdiction over any proposal to set aside tee times and hotel rooms for private golfers.
