SANTA PAULA : Counterfeit $20 Bill Shows Up at Bank
Santa Paula police are warning residents to watch out for counterfeit $20 bills after a local bank received a phony bill.
A branch of Citizens State Bank of Santa Paula received the fake $20 bill from a Santa Paula business on Friday morning, said Kristina Burgett, manager of the West Harvard Boulevard bank.
Bank officials spotted the phony by “the texture of the money and the color of the money,” Burgett said. “It didn’t feel like regular money, and it was a little bit discolored.”
Anyone who receives what appears to be counterfeit bills is asked to call the Santa Paula Police Department at 525-4478.
