Tougher Gun Laws

Thanks for your editorial on the number of gun deaths and the need for more governmental restrictions.

One of the greatest threats to our way of life, and government, is continued growth in the number and firepower of guns, especially assault weapons and large ammo clips.

The gun lobby--the National Rifle Assn., gun makers and gun dealers--for years has preached the nonsense that the only way to be safe is for everyone to have a gun.

It is obvious that we have tragically been fooled. Now, almost everyone does have and gun and no one is safe.

We must somehow reduce the number of guns and make them ever harder to get, if we are ever to have real security.
