Maxwell Documents Reportedly Shredded: The flagship newspaper of the ruined Maxwell empire reported that the late Robert Maxwell’s daughter, Ghislaine, ordered piles of his documents shredded days after his death last month. The Daily Mirror said she denied it. In another development, Britain’s Serious Fraud Office announced that it had begun investigating allegations of an illegal scheme to prop up the price of stock in another Maxwell company, Maxwell Communication Corp. PLC. The stock had been used as collateral for loans.
