Huntington Park : New Commission of Youths to Advise City Government

Share

The Huntington Park City Council has established a Youth Commission to advise city officials on issues affecting young people. Councilman Ric Loya, who proposed the idea, said it also will help teen-agers learn about city government.

The five-member commission will consist of two students from local junior high schools and three from Huntington Park High School. It will meet once a month with city officials.

Applications to serve on the commission are being accepted at City Hall through January. The City Council hopes to appoint commission members in February, when the first meeting will be held.
