JOHN ROBINSON RESIGNS AS RAM COACH : 55 Years of Ram History

Share

The past two dreadful seasons aside, ecstasy has far outweighed agony for the Rams, from the franchise’s start in Cleveland in 1937 and through moves to Los Angeles (1946) and then to Anaheim (1980). In 54 seasons--the team suspended operations in 1943--the Rams have had 31 winning teams and 19 losers; four finished at .500. The Rams have made one Super Bowl appearance--losing to Pittsburgh, 31-19, on Jan. 20, 1980--and five NFL championship appearances, winning in 1945 (vs. Washington) and 1951 (Cleveland) and losing in 1949 (Philadelphia), 1950 (Cleveland) and 1955 (Cleveland).
