Ernest A. Strathmann; Pomona College Professor, Author

Ernest A. Strathmann, 85, professor emeritus of English and dean of the Pomona College faculty from 1959 to 1970. Strathmann earned his undergraduate, master’s and doctorate degrees at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore before joining the Pomona faculty in 1932. He was the author of a book on Sir Walter Raleigh and wrote the introduction to Penguin Books’ “William Shakespeare: The Complete Works.” In Claremont on Tuesday.
