* Dana E. Miles has been appointed to the new position of general counsel for State of the Art Accounting Software. Initially, he will be responsible for establishing a legal department at the company’s headquarters in Irvine. Miles was deputy general counsel for Ashton-Tate in Torrance, and before that, corporate attorney for Xerox Corp. in El Segundo.
