Grand Jury Deserves Credit for Efforts
Re “Board Takes Steps to Create Sober Station” (Dec. 14): It is unfortunate that credit was not given to the 1986 Orange County Grand Jury report that forced the supervisors to address the sober-station proposal.
This county watchdog group does a credible job each year bringing important subjects to the county’s attention yet receives little or no credit for its efforts.
During this period of recruitment for grand jury service (through January, 1992), it would be appropriate to not only give the work of past county grand juries some credit but also encourage qualified citizens to apply for future grand jury service.
