Jean-Yves Roy scored in the third period as Canada defeated home favorite Lugano of Switzerland, 3-2, in the Spengler Cup tournament.
Before a sellout crowd of 8,100 in Davos, Lugano (2-1) saw its hopes dim for a spot in the finals, which could wind up a rematch of Canada and ZSKA Moscow (2-0). The Russians beat the Canadians, 9-1, on Friday.
