Delicato Vineyards to Pay $1-Million Fine: The Manteca, Calif., winery announced that it and three of its employees will plead guilty to federal conspiracy and record-keeping charges and pay a $1-million fine. The charges stem from a government investigation into Delicato’s 1988 purchase of grapes from a Stockton broker who, the winery says, misrepresented that the grapes were of the Zinfandel variety. Federal authorities accused Delicato of not keeping required records of the purchase after learning that the grapes were not Zinfandel.
