Lend Me a Tenor: Luciano Pavarotti brought downtown Dublin to a standstill Monday with a performance that won him a standing ovation from almost 30,000 fans in a concert hall and on the streets of the Irish capital. The tenor marked the end of Dublin’s reign as European City of Culture with a sold-out concert beamed live to the city center on a giant screen. Streets were closed off and traffic was stopped during the performance. Madrid takes over as the City of Culture today.
