Share

The author of “Final Exit,” a best-selling book on suicide for the terminally ill, will speak at an inaugural meeting of the Ventura County chapter of the Hemlock Society on Jan. 11 in Ventura.

Author Derek Humphry’s book has sold more than 500,000 copies since its publication in May, drawing attention to a movement that seeks to legalize physician aid in dying.

It has also spurred the formation of several new chapters of the national Hemlock Society, including one in Ventura County and another in Northridge.
