CZECH-BOOK DIPLOMACY

Share

I am an English teacher in Czechoslovakia, and I am writing to ask for your help. During the past year, I became aware that my students, and others like them in Czechoslovakia, generally cannot obtain English-language materials. They are eager to read English books and magazines, but these are either nonexistent or prohibitively expensive.

In response, I have started a small-scale project called Bookbridge, which solicits books in English.

Please help our many friends in Czechoslovakia, where the printed word from the West is helping to end four decades of Czechoslovak isolation. Call Jeff Cochran at (704) 547-9132 for information.
