From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Blizzard conditions on the eastern side of the Rocky Mountains closed highways and closed schools and government offices in Cheyenne, Wyo., which got 10 inches of snow. In Denver, schools and offices closed about noon as drifting snow snarled traffic. Salt Lake City and ski resorts in Utah also got fresh snow. Interstate 25 from southeastern Wyoming to Denver was closed at 11 a.m. but reopened later, the Wyoming Transportation Department said. Flights into and out of Denver’s Stapleton International Airport were delayed, and United and American airlines canceled most flights.
