A Yorba Linda woman was struck and killed by a car Wednesday morning while she was jogging along a quiet residential road, Brea police reported.

Lynda J. McGlothlen, 43, was pronounced dead at the scene of the 6 a.m. accident, Brea Police Lt. Cliff Trimble said. The driver of the car that hit her was not cited.

Trimble said McGlothlen was jogging south on Paseo de las Palomas against traffic. There were few cars on the road at the time.

Just before she reached the intersection of Paseo de las Palomas and Avenida de Amore, a car driven by Robert Allen Aulick, 48, of Yorba Linda, struck McGlothlen, throwing her to the side of the road, Trimble said.

Paramedics arriving at the scene a short time later pronounced her dead, Trimble said.

Aulick did not appear to be exceeding the speed limit, Trimble said. He added, however, that the investigation was continuing and the case will be turned over to the Orange County district attorney’s office for review.
