The debt-ridden Pebble Beach Co. has given up the battle but not the plan to raise millions by selling six-figure private memberships to its famous seaside golf resort, the company said.

Pebble Beach President Tom Oliver said the company had tired of the legal and jurisdictional fight and believed it overshadowed the proposal.
