Soap Opera Stars Fight Child Abuse With Record Project
In the tradition of “We Are the World” and “Voices That Care,” 38 daytime soap opera stars have joined forces to record the anthem “The Eyes of a Child.” The project is intended to help fight child abuse in the United States and Canada.
Featured on the album “With Love from the Soaps,” the song, by Canadian Pete Palazzolo, includes solos and duets by a dozen actors before building to the full chorus.
Portions of the proceeds from the album, which will be released in February on the Quality Records label, benefit the Child Welfare League of America Inc. and the Children’s Aid Society Foundation in Canada, umbrella organizations servicing hundreds of welfare agencies on behalf of abused, neglected, homeless and otherwise troubled children.
The album and an accompanying video were recorded at the Sony Pictures Studios in November.
