Complaint Filed Over Disneyland Discount: A Palm Springs man says he has filed a complaint with a state agency contending that a Disneyland promotion offering discounts to Southland residents violates anti-discrimination laws.

Andrew Exler, whose 1980 lawsuit successfully overturned Disneyland’s ban on dancing by gay couples, said he sent a letter to the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing because the $20 discount entrance fee is unfair to out-of-state residents and people who are not carrying identification.

Myonia Gibbs, the department’s administrator in Santa Ana, said that the law prohibits “arbitrary discrimination” but added that she had not yet received Exler’s complaint.

Disneyland spokesman Bob Roth said company lawyers believe the discount, which begins Saturday and continues through March 15, is legal.
