Motorcycle Helmet Law

Assemblyman Richard Floyd (D-Gardena) supported the helmet law ostensibly to protect motorcycle riders. However his comment, “As far as I’m concerned, the s.o.b. can walk” (Dec. 28), indicates he really doesn’t care about their welfare at all. Is it possible he supported the helmet law in response to some “special” interest other than rider safety? Perhaps Floyd is the s.o.b. who should walk.
