Austria’s Sabine Ginther won her first World Cup slalom, at Schruns, Austria.

The victory, coupled with a second-place finish in Saturday’s downhill, gave Ginther her first World Cup combination victory and 280 overall points for the two races. She has 401 points, behind teammate Petra Kronberger (419) and Germany’s Katja Seizinger (412).

Mathias Berthold of Austria defeated Norway’s Torjus Berge with a strong two-run performance in the finals of the U.S Pro Ski Tour slalom at Telluride, Colo.

Berthold had a .088-second advantage after the first run and then won the second run for his first victory since winning a slalom at Heavenly Valley last January.

Austria’s Klaus Sulzenbacher won the season’s fourth World Cup Nordic combined competition, at Breitenwang, Austria. His ninth-place finish on the 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) course, in 38:37.3, earned the combined victory after his second-place finish in Saturday’s ski jumping.

Torgny Mogren outsprinted Vegard Ulvang at the finish to give Sweden a victory over Norway in the 4x10-kilometers relay at the men’s World Cup cross-country ski competition in Cogne, Italy. Italy won the women’s title.
