OXNARD : Man Hit and Killed by Car Is Identified
An 81-year-old man who was struck and killed by a car in Oxnard has been identified as Russell Peddicord, Deputy Coroner Jim Wingate said Tuesday.
Peddicord was hit by a car on Channel Islands Boulevard, police said.
Driver Amy Apodoca of Westlake Village braked when she saw Peddicord in the street, but was unable to avoid hitting him, police said.
Apodoca was not cited because witnesses said she was traveling within the speed limit, police said.
