Prego in Irvine joins with Opera Pacific for two nights of “Tosca With Pasta” Friday, Jan. 17 and Jan. 24. The package includes a four-course dinner at Prego and a ticket to see “Tosca” at the Performing Arts Center. The cost of the evening--dinner, tax, gratuity and ticket (normally $65 for seating in the orchestra, first or second tier)--is $75 per person. Dinner will begin at 6 p.m. with an assortment of Prego appetizers, followed by fresh house-made pasta, entree and dessert. Prego is at Von Karman Avenue and Michelson Drive. (714) 553-1333.

Antonio Cagnolo, owner of Antonello Ristorante in South Coast Plaza and one of five partners in the Italian group (Trattoria Spiga in Crystal Court and Emporio Armani Express in the South Coast Plaza), expects to debut a Planet Hollywood restaurant in Orange County sometime this summer or fall. Planet Hollywood in New York, owned by actors Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, plus British restaurateur Robert Earl and producer Keith Barish, is a Hard Rock Cafe-style movie memorabilia and food emporium. Groundbreaking for the Los Angeles branch is slated for this month. Site selection in Orange County is currently under way.
