Condoms and AIDS Education

Years ago, frightened, ignorant parents joined together in an attempt to save their children from the evils of rock ‘n’ roll. We laugh at that now. Today’s shortsighted parents are now banned together to “save” their kids from safe-sex education and condoms. The difference is some of these kids will be dead in 10 years, and no one will be laughing.

The Times does us a huge service by printing articles that give us statistics and facts that illuminate reality (i.e., the article on teen sex and abstinence, Jan. 5). It should be required reading for those school board members who still have their heads in the sand.
