FHP Names Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer
Jack Massimino has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of FHP Inc., a subsidiary of Fountain Valley-based FHP International Corp.
He had been senior vice president prior to his new appointment.
He succeeds Pat Vitacolonna, who is leaving the position to pursue other interests.
Massimino first joined FHP in 1975 as a manager in the company’s management development program and later served as FHP’s Utah regional director before leaving in 1979 to become partner and then president of John Short & Associates, a health-care consulting firm.
He also served as senior vice president of Health Resources Corp. of America, a hospital management company, and as president and chief executive of Texas Health Plans. He returned to FHP in 1988 as vice president of corporate development.
FHP is a health maintenance organization.
