WORLD IN BRIEF : EL SALVADOR : 2 Officials’ Slayings Mar Peace Accord

Two officials, including an army lieutenant colonel, were killed by gunmen a day after warring Salvadoran factions signed a peace accord Thursday in Mexico City. Lt. Col. Armando Anibal Rodriguez was shot outside his home in southwestern San Salvador by gunmen who fled in a pickup truck. A National Police officer was killed when at least 10 gunmen ambushed his patrol car outside the capital.
