Decision on GM-Daewoo Breakup Due Soon: A decision on the long-anticipated breakup of General Motors Corp.’s joint venture with South Korea’s Daewoo Motor Co. is expected by March, a Daewoo spokesman said. “Executives from both companies are talking about either a full or partial sale of GM’s stake to Daewoo,” he said. The U.S. auto maker signed a seven-year contract with Daewoo in January, 1983. But analysts said the partners have been unable to overcome cultural and ideological differences.
