Tourism industry indicators for November were about flat, with categories such as hotel room nights sold and San Diego Zoo visits showing gains while others, including airport passenger arrivals and Old Town State Park visits, registering declines.

The countywide occupancy rate at San Diego hotels was 60.9%, up from 58.47% for the same month in 1990. The average daily room rate at area hotels during the month of November was $78.53 per night, up 2% from the $76.86 average in November, 1990. November visitors to the zoo increased 11.3% from the same month in 1990, and local museums logged a 9.6% increase in admissions. But attendance at the Wild Animal Park was off 9.9%, and visitors to the Cabrillo National Monument at Point Loma declined 2.3%.

According to computerized figures, visitors spent $262 million in the county in November, up 8.3% from the same month in 1990. Visitors totaled 2.92 million, up 4% from the 2.81 million logged in November, 1990.
