Milken Suit Settlement Reported Near: Fallen junk bond king Michael Milken is close to settling billions of dollars in civil suits filed against him for alleged securities violations, Cable News Network reported. CNN quoted unidentified sources familiar with the talks as saying that the settlement could total more than $800 million. Lawyers for thrift regulators and a Milken spokesman declined comment on the report. Milken also faces a $1-billion suit filed in September by his former employer, Drexel Burnham Lambert Inc., seeking return of his compensation and other money.
