OXNARD : Bank Branch Falls Victim to Robber

Share

A man robbed an American Savings Bank branch of an undisclosed amount of cash Tuesday morning, officials said. It was the third bank robbery in Oxnard this year and the sixth countywide.

The man entered the bank at 9:30 a.m., handed a teller a note announcing the robbery and was given “a relatively small amount of cash,” American Savings Bank spokeswoman Diane Nelson said.

After taking the money, the man ran out through the rear exit of the branch at 560 S. A St., FBI Special Agent Larry Dick said.

Witnesses did not see a weapon during the robbery, Dick said.

The suspect is described as a clean-shaven, tall, slender male in his late 20s, Dick said.

He was wearing a gray hooded sweat shirt with a zipper down the front and blue jeans, and was last seen running down an alley behind the bank, Dick said.
