Los Feliz : Picnic Area Added to Park
The Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation has allocated $650,000 to install amenities and a new drainage system in the Vermont Canyon area of Griffith Park, near the Greek Theatre.
Tom La Bonge, field deputy for City Councilman John Ferraro, said the area will be landscaped and turned into a picnic facility, featuring a volleyball court, restrooms and sidewalks. Construction is under way and is expected to be completed in about four months.
While work is under way, Commonwealth Avenue will be the primary access route to the Vermont Canyon tennis courts, La Bonge said.
