Officer Charged After Firing Shot Into Home

A police officer has been charged with misdemeanor assault for firing a shot through a window of a house during a burglary investigation and wounding the home’s owner. Officer Michael Hancock, who was charged Wednesday, said he thought he was shooting at a burglar. If convicted, he could be sentenced to two years in prison.
