Rios Moves to KTTV as Managing Editor
Jose Rios, who was demoted from his post as news director at KCBS Channel 2 three weeks ago, has jumped ship and will join KTTV Channel 11 as managing editor beginning Feb. 10, a KTTV spokesperson said Friday.
Rios, a 13-year veteran of the Channel 2 newsroom, became the only Latino news boss at any local VHF station when he took over the news operation at KCBS in August, 1990. After 16 months on the job, however, Rios was removed to make room for John Lippman.
