AND ONE MORE THING: When Edward Van Halen recently remarked in an interview that playing music is “not like brain surgery,” it really popped the stitches of Dr. Jim Schumacher, brain surgeon. Schumacher, who operates at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, insists that playing guitar is harder . So he made Van Halen a unique offer:

“I will trade you a day of neurosurgery lessons for a day of guitar lessons,” the rockin’ doc wrote to the star.

Van Halen’s response: “I’ll take him up on it. There are a lot of people whose brains I would like to operate on.”

So next time you’re in for brain surgery, you might want to ask the doc if he can play “Jump.”
