FULLERTON : Consultant Hired for Muckenthaler Effort
The City Council voted recently to spend $10,000 to hire a fund-raising consultant from Newport Beach who will help raise money for an expansion of the Muckenthaler Cultural Center.
The Muckenthaler Cultural Foundation has hired John Carter of Brakely, John, Price, Jones Inc., who will first assess the feasibility of raising $3 million for the project.
Carter will interview about two dozen people including council members and business leaders to prepare for the fund-raising effort. The study is expected to be completed in the spring.
Construction already has started on the first phase of the expansion.
But the foundation still needs to come up with $1 million for a proposed hospitality courtyard and an additional $2 million to build an endowment fund.
